Enabling synthesis of complex products from ambient CO2.

We are not short on biogenic source of carbon, however the abundant carbon dioxide is available in an extremely dilute form. Our lab studies the fundamental challenges related to converting this difficult to use feedstock into more complex products, which are associated with a higher market value, thus creating an economic incentive for the development of carbon neutral production methods. Examples of such products include propanol (convenient precursor to hard plastic manufacturing) and compounds with unique isotope labelling properties.
